![]() ![]() From wooden planks to sandstone to grassy dirt, everything looks simpler, with fewer bits in every single texture. Those icons that do get changed become more blurry versions of their normal images, but you can still easily make out what it is you’re looking at if you’re an experienced Minecraft player. Very few of the icons for items have been changed, mostly to keep things working smoothly for the player. Sadly, the background is the same old grey color, but then there are only so many changes you can make with a 8x resolution pack like MagiCraft. It adds a bright blue hue to the border of your inventory window, as well as the windows you see when accessing chests and cooking up potions at a brewing stand. You’ll notice the changes made by MagiCraft 8 Bit Resource Pack as soon as you open your inventory window thanks to the custom GUI scripted into this resource pack. There are no waves in the water, no reflections, no ultra-bright blocks in annoying colors. Second, the art style is simplistic enough that it shouldn’t offend anyone. The reasons behind this are twofold – first, the simpler textures mean that even players with computers that normally struggle to play Minecraft can get a big boost to their framerate and make the game more playable when using these simpler textures. This means MagiCraft actually dumbs down the graphics in Minecraft. Like the name suggests, the MagiCraft 8 Bit resource pack comes with a bitcount of 8, or a resolution of 8x. ![]()
